HP | Genius Home Studio

Overview

Powered by HP, Genius Home Studio virtually paired aspiring and established artists from the worlds of music production, songwriting, music video direction, and dance to create and collaborate on an original song using HP laptops while appearing in spin-offs of our signature franchises.

Providing The Tools & Resources for Aspiring Artists

During the first few weeks of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Genius partnered with HP to create a program that supported the cause to stay indoors while providing our audiences the tools and resources they need to pursue their creative passions.

Thus, Genius Home Studio was born.

To kick off our program together, Genius created a digital music creation platform that aspiring and emerging producers could use to create their own beat with. The experience also included video tutorials about the basics of music production and an interactive walkthrough of how to use the platform. Most importantly, one rising producer would get a chance to chop it up with Mike Will Made-It to help put the finishing touches on the beat.

But it didn’t stop there.

Now that we had a beat, we then tapped Cantrell, an emerging songwriter from Georgia, to record some lyrics with the help of Offset, before passing it off to TikTok superstars, the Nae Nae Twins, and music video director, Glassface to create some supporting visuals.

And the kicker? The whole project was created on HP Spectre laptops and shot remote with video drop kits and self-shot footage.

Genius Sessions

Each participating artist was given the opportunity to collaborate with an influential artist, who provided industry guidance and mentorship.
